Only Real Fans Allowed

So Week 15 was indeed MY week. I got to go to Arrowhead Stadium and see my Chiefs play the San Diego Chargers. 50 yard line.. 10 rows up... team side. Please, you can close your mouths now and stop drooling because I would be jealous too if I were you.

It was a great game. Dominating offense. Great running and passing game balance. Great energy. Oh and I won't mention the cold, because well.. it was not that great. But that is why only real fans are allowed in Arrowhead because you have to be a die hard to stick it out for a 2-(and then) 12 team in weather like that. Only non-band-wagoners stay true to the red and gold even when they've literally broken your heart in near-wins countless times this season alone. Yes, and even when their own head coach brings on 17 rookie starters and calls it good, the real Chiefs fans still stick by. So yes, even though we lost in the last 2 minutes of the game, I had a great time. I was there with my family. I was there in the cold. I was there witnessing the glory of football. I was there being a Real Chiefs Fan. Nothing is better than that, my friends.

A New Obsession!

Ok so. I have had nothing exciting happen for a couple of days. Because its break and all I do is read and sleep. (by the way, I'm reading Conspiracy of Fools about the Enron scandel. Any finance or economic nerd like me would definitely enjoy it!) So, I have been getting ready for the Christmas season which means GIFTS for my FAMILIA! So this year I tried to go a little sentimental for my new sister-in-law and got her this:

They got married last month and this is such a perfect color for their beautiful new house! I'm excited for her to see it! (good thing she doesnt read my blog) :)

I got this from my friend Ryan for Christmas. ISNT IT AWESOME?! They have one that says "Return with... a Diet Coke" but you can design your own stuff and he did this! :) (Thanks again, Ry!)

They are both from the same place.. I'm not sure they have a store.. the site is http://www.sayanythingexpressions.com/ so definitly check it out....but seriously I want every single product. When I have a house and kids and such I WILL buy everything from them.

the CHRISTmas season & fake santas

So, me being me I indeed have found something wrong with the Christmas season. Not the holiday specifically, but certainly people's interpretation of it. For example.. There has been controversy in the past years about saying "Merry Christmas". I wonder why people are offended at such a saying. Christ is the sole reason for this holiday, is He not? If you refuse to believe in that, then simply dont celebrate the holiday! Why are parents taking kids out of Christmas programs at school because they say the word "Christ"? Do they think they are shielding them from an horrible lie or that they will never in the duration of their life come in contact with Christmas again? Don't people understand that despite others views that you must find a way to live harmoniously with other humans, and not be ignorant? I am sorry but the world has lost sight of the importance that one day in December brings, and that is Jesus Christ. His birth brought about the greatest event in history, the Atonement, and the sole reason we are able to exist in this world and the next. Its fine that you might not have those beliefs, but why try and diminish others in your quest to attack what you dont understand?

OK now that is off my chest, I can also proclaim that I do not like fake Santas. I dont think I had this feeling when I was young... but I can't promise you that because well, I just cant remember... but ever since I found out that Santa wasnt real, I just dont like seeing his fake-ness parade around. Doesnt anyone else think its a little odd that an old man with a hobo beard and a wig sits around all day talking to little kids about what he is "going to bring them" into their house in the middle of the night, all the while eating their cookies and drinking their precious milk? I mean c'mon what are we teaching these kids? After we tell them to not talk to strangers, and that breaking into houses is a crime, we willfully bring them to a busy mall (or Bass Pro Shop) surrounded with elfs and happy camera people and plop them down on this hobo santa-man, all for a cute little photo op.

OK so I may had gone a little overboard, but still... I think that fake santas are creepers.. and when I have kids, I better have a husband that is excited about that kind of thing, or my kids will hate me!

Anyways, I am having a great break so far with babysitting my nephews and sleep and such. I should probably do something productive here soon, though. I hope that everyone else is having a great holiday season, and in all seriousness, a very Merry Christmas.
