Happy 1 month and 22 days

and if you are wondering, yes I had to go to my calendar and count the days. and no i don't deal with numbers anymore (well, except for our {very newly wed} budget) so yeah, i count days now. awesome.

I'm sure a lot of you are wondering either
a) how the wedding went
b) how the honeymoon was
c) how the move went
d) how we like DC or
e) all of the above.

yeaaaa, i'll get on that. later.

but for right now, i found a little (probably not-so-secret) secret to making cake box mixes the bomb dot com. Saturday night on the way home from the temple we were jonesing for some sweets. and I wanted to make something to enjoy during Sunday night football as well, without a whole lotta "work" (its Sunday, a day of REST for peets sake!)

So we picked up some peanut m&ms for some instant gratification and a box of Betty Crockers chocolate cake, some chocolate frosting, and some instant chocolate pudding (oh yea, we were going ALL OUT on the chocofactor). I didn't know exactly how to make the improvments yet so I didn't buy anything else, but the good news for me was that I had everything else :)

So heres the (not-so secret) secret to make your box cakes oh-so-much more delicious.:

Ingredients:
- a box of pudding (whatever flavor you want)
- 1 more egg than the box calls for
- 1 cup sour cream
- some milk (do half the water on the box and then make up the rest with milk)

Directions:
- mix the box ingredients and the box of pudding together - set aside
- mix together the water/milk, oil(or butter if you want some extra goodness) and eggs
- add the dry ingredients to the milk mixture and mix/beat/whatever well
- then add the sour cream and mix/beat/whatever some more
- while you are doing this DO NOT WORRY THAT IT LOOKS WEIRD!

and wa la - make sure you have some cupcake liners or some pam and finito!

also, even though the can frosting is DELISH! next time there will be some homemade frosting on those bad boys (i made cupcakes), because lets be serious, homemade frosting is also the bomb dot com.

p.s. don't forget the sprinkles :)
